A Visit to Squatty Potty & Carbon8

By March 30, 2017General

Tom and the team from Outpost Worldwide have been traveling across the U.S. to finalize the shooting for the upcoming Make48 TV show, airing, as you know, this coming fall! Their last trips took them from Kansas City to Chicago, then Ohio, on what Tom has come to call the “Prius road trip”. The following trip took them all the way to Utah to see the headquarters of our platinum sponsors and Make48 mentors, Squatty Potty! The team then headed to Colorado to meet with video marketing company Carbon 8, who is currently producing a marketing video for one of the three winning products from the October 2016 event.

“As we move across America, we are constantly looking for great people and equally great companies to help the process of taking an idea to market. Doing what I do, I rely upon and constantly seek help from those I can learn from. With the 3 winning products from Make48 on target with a final design, we headed west to the beautiful St George, Utah with my toilet seat in tow.”

“We spent the morning and most the day with Judy and Bobby Edwards, and the whole team at Squatty Potty. If there ever was a place to score a job this would be it. A fun team with toilet humor firing across the room, I was in hog heaven!”

“The afternoon was a private filming segment with the Harmon Brothers, Theron and Daniel. For those that don’t know the Harmon Brothers, they are the creative team behind the famous Poo-Pourri video, Purple Mattress video, and the Squatty Potty video that 150 million people worldwide have had a chuckle at.”

“The next day we were onward to Denver, Colorado to meet with Carbon8. A full-service marketing team that does everything from social media to videos for start-ups and large brands like Ocean First and Energy Outreach Colorado. Mark Mitton, Katherine Roberts, and their team created a video for the first place product. The video was phenomenal and produced great pieces of marketing materials. This company has everything we need to help get products launched and noticed to the world market. It is a company I can highly recommend.

With an afternoon in Denver, we took in the sites and headed for the mountains. The boys tasted some local brews and we ate some great food. Where will Make48 take us next? Stay tuned and like our page for updates on innovation journey.”
