Make48 CEO Visits Wet & Forget HQ

By March 16, 2017General

Make48 CEO Tom Gray visited the headquarters of Wet & Forget in Chicago, Illinois. The company is known for their amazing line of innovative cleaning products, and is also one of our platinum sponsors for our September 2017 event!

Tom visited the Wet & Forget headquarters during what he calls a “Prius roadtrip”, which involved him and the team at video production company Outpost Worldwide travelling to different shooting locations to film the remaining chapters of Make48 TV in a prius. “Heading on a filming road trip with Mike, Nick [Outpost Worldwide] and car load of camera gear in a Prius. Yes, 3 grown men and plenty of filming gear it was not ideal, but we got it done and it was fun.”

This was Tom and the team’s second-to-last filming road trip for this season of the show (you guessed it- that means that Make48 TV season one is almost complete, and ready for airing this summer!). “Our second-to-last road trip filming the final segments of Make48 Season One took us to Chicago and Columbus, Ohio. In Chicago we were greeted by the team at Wet and Forget. They were incredible mentors to the teams during our first season. We had made a cheeky request the night earlier for “the best donuts in Chicago”, and we were not let down! Teresa had a full board of tasty morsels on standby.” Teresa Fugatt is Wet & Forget’s marketing VP- read our interview with her to learn all about their company’s commitment to innovation and fantastic how-to and DIY content.

Tom’s experience at Wet & Forget was seamless, as is to be expected when donuts are around. “Filming went smoothly and we learnt some great insight to how Wet & Forget supply their cleaning products to some of the biggest names like Lowes and Costco”. This is the kind of valuable insight that teams get by talking to mentors during the competition.

Another highlight was seeing Wet & Forget President, Brett Perry, as he and Tom are both natively from New Zealand and found lots to catch up on, “seeing fellow Kiwi Brett Perry is always a nice treat as we speak of rugby, sheep and discuss family back home in New Zealand”.

After the Wet & Forget visit, Tom and the Outpost team headed towards Ohio to visit design company Trident Design. Read more about Tom’s visit in our next blog post!
