A special message from our CEO…
What an incredible day at Children's Mercy Park last week. Make48's first-ever 49th Hour Pitch with Sporting KC was a tremendous event, filled with amazing community support.
We were thrilled to welcome back six talented Project Lead The Way student teams from across Missouri, who previously tackled our Stadium Innovation challenge. For those unfamiliar with Make48, it's a rapid invention competition. Teams have 48 hours to dream up, design, and build a new product. The "49th Hour Pitch" allows them to refine their inventions after the competition and present them to industry experts.
These young innovators blew us away with how they'd reimagined and improved their prototypes since February. Their passion and ingenuity were truly inspiring!
A huge thank you to everyone who came to celebrate these students and experience the excitement. I also want to give a special shout-out to our fantastic panel which included representatives from Sporting KC, KC Chiefs, and KC Current for their insightful questions and invaluable feedback.
Finally, heartfelt thanks to Chioma and Maigan from Sporting KC for their incredible dedication in planning this event. Your hard work made it a resounding success!
This event showcased the power of collaboration, and we can't wait to host more exciting pitches at Children's Mercy Park.
