Texas Students Gear Up for a 48-Hour Innovation Challenge
Dallas, TX (December 5, 2024) – The acclaimed Make48 invention competition is kicking off its ninth season with a bang in Dallas, Texas! Vandermont, a private K-12 school renowned for its innovative approach to education, will host this 48-hour challenge from February 28th to March 2nd, 2025.
Featured on the "This Old House Makers Channel" on the Roku network, Make48 pushes teams to collaborate, design, and build a new product prototype in three days. This fast-paced competition provides a unique platform for participants to unleash their creativity and experience the thrill of invention.
During the event, eight teams from Vandermont will face a secret challenge, utilizing their resourcefulness and tools to bring their inventions to life. Participants will also create a promotional video and sales sheet to pitch their product to a panel of judges. The winning team will win $2,000, a one-of-a-kind trophy, and advance to the national Make48 competition in November 2025.

Make48 is a nationwide invention-competition docuseries that challenges teams to turn their ideas into reality in just 48 hours. During the three-day event, participants must design a prototype, create a promotional video, and prepare a sales sheet to present their concept to a panel of judges.
